I was so hopeful for this game, but really they should've just released 2-3 Duke Nukem forevers by now. Even if they weren't quite as good as they should've been, this could have been avoided, and by now we could have been having a really great Duke Nukem game (after all, the company would have learnt from the extra games that they made). Our only hope is that another company will pick it up and do it justice.

I LOVED those games, I can't believe that then just procrastinated for soooooooooo many years just to announce that they dropped the project.
This type of stuff pisses me off. So many people preordered the game, and then practically waited while hopes and dreams died around us all. I mean, Duke was one of the first shooters ever to appear in the gaming world, and we can't let him die just because of a company going bankrupt. We need to make a tribute/collab to Duke and his bad-assness. Also, we got to remember that Take-Two still owns the publishing rights to Duke Nukem Forever, which means that, technically, they are allowed to finish and sell the game. Will they use them and/or finish the game? probably not, but they might sell the copyrights to another company. Perferrably EA, or someone that can make a good game, not a half-assed version.

Duke Nukem, that was one of the first games i played, i remember Duke Nukem 3D, it was totally awesome.

3D Realms was shut down on May 6, 2009 due to lack of funding. Development on DNF halted, IT WAS NOT CANCELED. Publisher Take-Two Interactive, in response, stated that they still hold the publishing rights for Duke Nukem Forever, but they stated they were not funding the game. From wikipedia.
