What happened when Tricky was stabbed in MC6, Hank in MC3 and MC7 and an A.T.P. engineer in I: 110A? They holded the swords.

I've always wondered why the Agents are almost always equipped with melee weapons, they are useless with 'em. Only time when I saw someone being useful with a melee weapon was in MC 10 when an A.T.P Agent stabbed Hank in the back with a knife.
