Madness Day 2013, Project Nexus 2 announcement.

Posted by Krinkels - September 22nd, 2013

Alright, so, Madness day! Already a good bunch of great submissions! Many huge thanks to anyone who kicked in their bit of Madness flavored work so far! Can't wait to see what else gets submitted. In case you hadn't seen it yet, be sure to check out what I threw out there, Incident:1000A.

Though, more importantly, I'm thrilled to explain what Swainand I have been yelling at eachother about over the last long while; Project Nexus 2. We're going with the unity build, Why unity? Because Flash simply can't handle what we're trying to bring to the game, truth be told Nexus was stripped of a litany of features that couldn't be added because of the limitations of the Flash environment. With the Unity engine, we can go full 3d, and have a greater command of creative control over what we want to offer. The greatest challenge will be maintaining that madness feel in the third dimension, but given the general levels of awesome coming offa my main man Swain, I think we can deliver something you might enjoy. To actualize this, we're intending to run a kickstarter to ensure that we don't have to get jobs washing dishes, keep an eye out for that.

You can keep up with our development blog here: http://teammadness.tumblr.com/

And of course, I'll be posting semi-regular updates on the Madness Combat facebook page.

Alright I gotta go check out more MD2013 animations and arts and whatnots...

Nice animation dude!

I can barely even comprehend the awesomeness that would be contained within the confines of a 3D madness game. m0ar!

Unity?
cool!

Unity? Damn it my computer doesn't support unity.

OMG with unity ?!!!! Awesome :)

2 posts in one day, new record...

You mean "MD2013 animations and arts and whatnots..."?

here's my thing btw, in all it's crappyness...

2012..?

Nice choice choosing Unity. Now you can make multiplayer for madness and add that highscore board you tried to put in Project Nexus 1's Arena.

I'm really anticipating a good zombie mode. Good luck with the game and happy Madness Day.

Any news for MC 11?

madness project nexus 2,huh?

I've got a few questions.
1. What's your progress so far?
2. Will there be online multiplayer?
3. In Incident 1000A, did you redesign the shades of the L33T agents? They might have a new tint.
4. How soon will the next update be on Madness Combat 11?

Otherwise, I must say congratulations and good work on Incident 1000A, and what we've seen so far on the project. Best of luck.

Hm, I assume this will generally look and play the same as the original, but if not, I can adjust. Ahem, a few questions of my own. (that you could please respond to in private messages as well as to the comment.)
Will this be full screen? Will there be jumping? Will we have a much deeper level of customization? Will there even be a return to the arena mode? And will features said to have supposed to be added to the original (Such as Dual wielding and executions) be added to this newer version? Will we be able to download this?

This is all well and good but one question, will it still have the Madness feel to it?

When did you and Swain decide to go 3D?

I'm a bit surprised at this. I am looking forward to it but I wonder how different will it be from the 1st Project Nexus. I hope the controls will be easy enough to use in a 3D kind of game.

Also the new Incident. I was a bit surprised at the outcome. That trick with the stop sign was the only way I could think of where Tricky beats Mag Hank. I didn't even know he could bounce that high. I thought Deimos and Sanford would get him and such. Then they would have a turn and be killed by Demon Tricky or somehing. I thought the final victor would be either the Auditor, a nameless grunt( maybe one of the two from the previous incidents) or the hot dog guy. Heck I'd love to see that! Hot dog man for next incident!

NICE JOB CREATING A HOLIDAY. pfffft!

Well crap that sucks, It felt like it wasn't really that much effort that was put in Madness: Project Nexus. I don't think my PC supports unity though.
