September 22nd is coming fast, and it will mark the seventeenth Madness Day here on Newgrounds.com. Madness Combat has been on this site for over two decades, and we're sitting here celebrating yet another Madness Day because the fandom (read that as: you guys) keep the fire burning hot and we're going to champion that, put the love on display. We're celebrating the enthusiasm, talent, and passion that has been drawn to this series that I had the good fortune to start here on this portal.

The prize pool will be done through Ko-Fi, this year. I will be putting in 250 of my own cash in initially. This year we've got merch prizes, too! September 22nd, 2023 will mark Newgrounds.com's seventeenth Madness Day. We're 75 days away, and already I'm excited for what this year brings.... every year some absolutely incredible stuff comes through, I encourage you to take a trip down memory lane and investigate some of the years past.

Not much to report. The long and short of it is that I've been working on stuff for a non-Mandess prototype Swain and I want to get done, and animating mc12 part 1 in my off hours. Progress is progress, and my progress is as always a little sluggish.

...How much blood these dopes got innem. I should be getting to a work stream this weekend. Last weekend I was out of town, missed a beat as a result. Regularly scheduled routines are back.

MC12.1 gets work done on it in lil spurts. Priorities are divided, as usual. Thank you.

Not much to say. MC12 pt 1 continues along at the slow pace. I stream progress on my twitch from time to time (when I'm not just goofing off and playing videogames on there) if you're interested in seeing where it's at.

Madness Combat 12 part 1 continues to move, but moves very slowly as a result of it being so low on the priority queue. It's agonizing that I cannot work on it every day but I'm glad to have the opportunity to work on it when I can. Now that i've gotten a substantial amount of animation done I'm feeling a little more confident about what the 'identity' of this cartoon is. I just need to dump another 1k hours of nonsense into it. Thankfully I've reached out to Tarkade for backgrounds to help keep the process smooth.

Higher on the priority queue is my work with The-Swain at Gibbing Tree. I've done all the assets necessary for the next M:PN update so while we continue to speculate on the distant future for this game I've been studying Blender further. It's a little embarrassing to pick up basic shit this late in the game, but I learn like I do anything; slowly! This here image is just me using multi-uv textures while we prototype up new games. The next one we want out there'll be a non madness affair.

Update on Madness Combat 12

This project moves slowly. Patreon supporters will have noticed a skipped payment cycle to reflect how little forward progress there is. I've more or less figured out the general arc of it (which is subject to change) and I am warm to this notion of breaking it into three parts. A classic rise, fall, return format (which is also subject to mutation and change.) I won't be posting too often about the progress on this one, to let it sleep and not try to accidentally amp people for the eons it'll take to complete.
